Sometimes we say things that we don’t act on. Sometimes we say something is good and then we do something else. Sometimes we say and know things that are absolutely and obviously true and logical, but we then proceed in the most illogical manner.

We know that our faith must be tried and tested for it to be refined and to grow (Job 23:10; James 1:2-4; 1 Peter 1:7), but then we don’t like it when we think bad things are happening to us (2 Timothy 3:12; 1 Peter 4:12-14).

We know God is loving and we are His children (John 1:12-13; Romans 8:14-18; Galatians 4:6; 1 John 3:1), but then we don’t like it when God teaches us and even corrects us (Job 5:17-18; Proverbs 3:11-12; Hebrews 12:5-7 & 11).

I can say all day that God’s idea is always better than mine. It’s true. God knows everything and He is loving, so He does indeed have the best idea. But if I don’t give up my own ideas and act according to God’s idea and plan, what am I doing?
