I’m still not over Easter! The resurrection of Jesus means that death has been conquered! Conquered – this is a good word! Jesus won, Jesus defeated death. Death has no power over those who believe in Jesus!
Do our sin-cursed physical bodies still die? Yes. But when Jesus saves you, your spirit goes from death to life (Ephesians 2:4-6), you will not taste the second death (Revelation 21:7-8), and you will rise again one day (1 Thessalonians 4:14-17)!
Death is an unnatural thing that came into the world through man’s sin. It is part of the sin curse. But Jesus conquered it! If you believe in Jesus, in who He is as the Son of God and what He has done to pay for your sins, death can’t keep you! Death can’t hurt you! Death has no sting anymore (1 Corinthians 15:54-55)! Death is swallowed up in victory (Isaiah 25:8)!
