Sometimes God gives us the direct, go get it kind of way. He lays it out, clears the way, and says, “Go!” At other times God takes us the long way around, like He did with the children of Israel in Exodus 13:17-18.
When God takes you the long way around, don’t worry. Trust Him; He knows what He’s doing. In the case of the children of Israel, they weren’t ready or able to go the shorter, more direct way. They would have turn around and run back to Egypt. So God took them to a place they couldn’t run from to teach them to be still and know that He is God and He will take care of them. Then He led them on a journey to continue teaching and shaping them, to prepare them for what was ahead.
While God’s way may not seem to be the most logical, the most direct, or the shortest, God’s way is always the best way. Trust God. He knows you, and He knows what He’s doing.
