When you do something in someone’s name, you are doing it on their behalf, with their authority, as if you are that person. So people will rightly assume that you have permission or orders to do this thing, whether you actually do or not.

If you are a Christian, you are doing things in Jesus’ name. You are associated with Jesus, and Jesus is associated with you. People notice what you do and know Who you’re with, so anything you do reflects on the One who sent you. What are you doing? Is it what you were charged to do?
