The sermon yesterday pulled a few things closer together in my mind, as if lacing up a garment more securely. Read these verses in order: Genesis 1:1-3; John 1:1-5; 2 Corinthians 4:6 and 5:17.
No seriously, look them up and read them. You might not even have to read the rest of the blog post then.
While I know that Jesus was always existent as God the Son and this means He was there at creation, it does not always occur to me just what that entails. Jesus was not only present at creation, He was instrumental and active in it. God spoke and things came into being. Jesus is called the Word of God.
Think a little further with me. The same God who called light to shine out of the darkness at creation is the same God who calls light to shine in your life! The same Jesus who was active in creation is active in the lives of all who choose to be created anew!
