As I sat to write this blog, I could not think of a topic. I looked around, asking God for help as I usually do. As I looked around, some verses came to my mind triggered by what I saw. It then struck me how important it is to know your Bible. The more you know the Bible, the easier it is to call things to mind and to have good thoughts in your head. God tells us to keep our minds and hearts pure, and the best way to do that is to think about and do what He says (Psalm 119:9-11; Philippians 4:8). We should also be ready to answer people who have questions for us about God (1 Peter 3:15).

So how do you get to know God’s Bible? Read it. Memorize it. Study it. Think about it. Talk to God about it. Repeat. If you want a specific place to study in but aren’t sure where, ask God to point it out. Every time you go to the Bible, ask God to show you something new. Sometimes you don’t even have to be looking for something, God will just pop something off the pages for you in a new light. Even when you don’t feel like it, get into God’s Word. It is important, it is healthy for you (Proverbs 3:7-8). Your soul needs nourishment as much as your body. God and His Words are important for your whole being.
