I have written on confession before in a post called True Confession. I feel like an addition is needed.
I found another note I’ve written down on confession: “Confession is not telling God what you did; He already knows. Confession is agreeing with God that what you did was wrong.”
While the point in the first post still applies, confession is more than just naming your sin. To extend the idea further, if you don’t also agree with God that these sins are actually wrong, you aren’t actually sorry.
Confession means not just telling God what He already knows, but also agreeing with Him that your sin is actually sin.
