There comes a point in every person’s life when they realize their parents are not perfect. I don’t remember when that point was for me, so I think it was just a gradual, natural realization. But even though my parents aren’t perfect, I think they did a very good job. Thanks, Mom and Dad!

I have noticed that sometimes even when people know their parents aren’t perfect, they act as though their parents should have been perfect. Sometimes we don’t always realize that while we were growing up, so were our parents. They’d never had kids before, and since every child is different, they had to discover new ways of parenting every time one came along.

Humans make mistakes. Humans learn from mistakes. Whether you’re the child or the parent, you’re a human and you’re not perfect. But that’s okay. Just do the best you can, and learn more about what the best is that you can do. Cut other people some slack, whether you’re related or not. Cut yourself some slack sometimes.

A human is a human, regardless of age, status, and life position. God Himself is aware we’re not perfect and that we can’t be without His help, which is part of the reason why He sent Jesus to die for our sins and rise again. We need to understand that no one is perfect, but God is and He can help us along in our imperfect lives.
