In last night’s sermon the preacher talked about wisdom. He talked about how you get it and what looks like in your life when you have it. Wisdom isn’t really learned, it’s gained and received (James 1:5; Exodus 31:2-6; Deuteronomy 34:9). Wisdom has a particular way of making you behave (James 3:13-18).
I’ve already talked about the way wisdom makes one behave in a different post, so I’m going to point out something else the preacher pointed out from James 3:17. Wisdom is first pure. First. If your wisdom isn’t pure but it is self-seeking and proud, then it isn’t godly wisdom, it is worldly wisdom. If your wisdom isn’t pure, then it can’t be the rest of the things on the godly wisdom list in this verse. If your wisdom isn’t pure, then it didn’t come from God.
