I’ve gone through some older notes I’ve kept from sermons years ago. I’ve chosen a few phrases for some helpful advice.

You’re not special, you’re unique. Unity in church comes when we stop thinking of ourselves as special and start thinking of ourselves as being uniquely able to contribute.

If you’re leaving someone to work alone in their ministry, shame on you, go help.

There are some burdens that are supposed to be shared.

Never violate your conscience, and never encourage someone else to violate their conscience.

God will change you. Stop writing your own script and let God write it. He’ll make some dramatic changes, but they will be good!

God hears your groanings and He will help you!

No matter what we suffer for Christ, the future glory outweighs it!

No matter what God calls you to sacrifice, it is and will be worth it!

Sometimes you receive a miracle you weren’t looking for. Sometimes the miracle isn’t relief and release, but transformation. God’s grace is sufficient.

Sometimes we see no fruit because we do not attempt anything that would cause it. Sometimes we see no fruit because it might just be that we don’t get to see it when it comes.

Look at people through Jesus’ eyes. It doesn’t matter if they’re worthy or not; if someone needs you, then glorify God by helping them.

We must fall in love with humanity and love them the way God does.
