I heard something from the sermon last night that really stuck out: If there is impotence in our prayer lives, in our families, or in our ministries, maybe it’s because we’re doing it for our glory and not God’s glory.
It can often be the case that we’re trying to do things our way for our glory and for our benefit instead of God’s way for His glory and for the benefit of others. Our focus can sometimes be all wrong, even if we’re doing and saying all the right things. We are all able to get caught up in the reputation and attention that something spiritual gives us, and when it starts going poorly, sometimes we don’t consider that we’re the ones doing something wrong. If something isn’t quite right, talk with God and be sure you’re not missing something. Review your motives with Him.
