I have several notes I’ve written that are pieces of advice, and I thought it would be helpful to share some.
We are to be the salt of the earth (Matthew 5:13, Mark 9:50), not salty at the world.
We do not season and illuminate (salt and light) the culture by domination.
Whatever may be going on around me, good or bad, I am the one responsible for how much I delight in Christ.
Just because someone isn’t doing their job is no excuse for you not to do yours.
Just because we have enemies does not necessarily mean we should be combative.
Giving does not require wealth. It’s not about the monetary amount, it’s about our attitude of obedience to God with what we have.
Don’t use “being a good steward” as an excuse to hoard what God has assigned for you to give. God has provided and will continue to provide, so we don’t have to stash and hoard.
You cannot improve on God’s design, but you can improve on how you participate in that design.
