Most of the time when a kid learns to ride a bicycle, they start with training wheels until they learn how to balance properly, then they don’t need them anymore and can do even more while they ride. Sometimes life can be like that.
But what happens when you think you’re not ready? I know a family who had a kid who didn’t want to stop using the training wheels. The dad knew his child was ready and that she wouldn’t finish learning how to ride a bike if he kept the training wheels on, so he simply took them off and told her to just go without them. Guess what? The kid could ride just fine. Did she still fall once in a while? Yes, but that’s part of bike riding, even for people who have done it for years.
Sometimes God takes off our training wheels in life. He knows we’re ready for the next thing He wants us to do, and we’re not really going to go with complete confidence until He takes the training wheels away. Then what do you know? We’re doing just fine! Will we fall off the life bike sometimes? Yes, but as long as we get back on and keep pedaling, we’ll get where we’re going.
