I found a couple notes I’ve written about the Ten Commandments (Exodus 20 and Deuteronomy 5).
Not only has God revealed the Ten Commandments to us, but the Ten Commandments reveal God to us!
We see something about God’s personality and values in the Ten Commandments.
God never took Israel out of Egypt because they kept the Ten Commandments, they were to keep the Ten Commandments because God took them out of Egypt.
It’s a bit like us Christians today. God didn’t save us because we were so good, but because He saved us we should be becoming good. See also Ephesians 2:8-10.
