Sometimes when you hear a story many times, it can lose its meaning. Sometimes it can gain more meaning. It seems to depend on how you are receiving it. As I heard the account of Jesus’ resurrection over this Easter, I have become even more thankful for it.
Resurrection means that Jesus died, and we know this death was the worst torture. Along with all the physical pain, Jesus had the deepest emotional, mental, and spiritual pain. He did it out of love for us. He loved us enough to rescue us with all that He is.
But because Jesus is also God, death couldn’t hold Him. His resurrection was a powerful display of who He is, what He has done, and what He will yet do!
So in light of all this I have thanked God more than I normally do at Easter. I have even wanted to hug Jesus more often than the thought normally crosses my mind. Thankfully I will get to see Jesus live and in person one day, and I will get to hug Him as much as I can then!
It will be The Best Hug.
