I’m sure you’ve heard it before: We often use the word hope in a way that means we wish something will happen and are uncertain it will, but for the Christian hope means we’re sure of something, that we’re looking forward at it. The word faith can be used with it.

But hope isn’t just for some point in the future for Christians, we can have hope now. Hope isn’t just looking forward knowing that God has things taken care of in the future, it is holding on to God and knowing He has things taken care of in the present. It may not always look like things are taken care of, but God has you securely held. You might be flailing in the water, but you Someone has thrown you a life preserver. You might be stuck in a ditch, but you have Someone helping you climb out.
