Be Still and Know

The sermon yesterday morning was from Psalm 46. I want to share part of my notes on verse 10.

“Be still” – Let go, let your hands down. Relax.

“And know” – You relax so you can learn more about God. You let go to know. Be still so you can know.

This verse means that God is in control. The world is not dependent on you and your skills. You don’t have to worry. You don’t have to be so busy. You don’t have to carry so much weight. God will do what He is going to do. He is God, you know. He will be exalted.

So settle down and relax. Sit still and watch God. Be quiet and listen to God.

Be still so you can know that God is God.
