The new year is practically upon us! I’m excited! But then again, what if I don’t like it?
Well, I don’t have much choice about that. So I’m going to trust God to take care of things, to take care of my friends and family, and to take care of me.
This past year has brought a lot of change to me. I am still me, yet I am not quite the same as I was. But I think this is good. I have grown as a person, and I hope I have helped others to do the same.
This past year has brought a lot of change to many others as well. Some people are going into the new year better, and some are going in worse. Some are going in with hope, and some with despair. Some have lost possessions and need some help. Some have just recently lost loved ones, and will be facing a new year without them. Some have lost friends, some have found friends. Some have faith and trust in God, some do not.
We are many different people with many different situations that are about to enter this new year, whether we like it or not. There has been change for us, and there will continue to be change. Some things will be a little bit like they were, and some things will be entirely new. But things will still be different. Will things be scary? Yes. Will they be good or bad? Both. Will you be better through your changes? That’s between you and God.
Make up your mind about a few things now, then it will be easier to handle things when they come. Talk to God about your fears and problems, and you will find they aren’t as bad as you think or worry they are. Trust God to prepare, equip, and keep you.
Happy New Year!
