Communication. The word itself has to do with making common, sharing, or dividing out. It has to do with joining or participating. It is something done between people, not just by one person.

The more I experience life and interact with others, the more I realize how true it is that communication is very important. And not just communication, clear and understandable communication.

People aren’t mind readers. I know a few who get pretty close through mere observation, but even they can’t do it and are sometimes wrong in their inferences. If you want someone to know what you want, how you feel, or what you’re thinking, you need to tell them. Sometimes you might have to think about how and what you say so that they can clearly understand you. That’s okay and even good, since it helps both of you to be better at communicating.

But do remember that communication is a two-way street. If you want to know what someone else wants, how they’re feeling, and what they’re thinking, you need to listen to them tell you. Sometimes you might need to ask them questions or need them to explain something. That’s okay and even good, since it helps both of you to be better at communicating.
