Generally speaking (though I am aware of exceptions), your body is subject to your mind. Whatever you will your body to do with your brain is what it does. You don’t accidentally pour yourself a bowl of cereal, you don’t accidentally yell at someone, and you don’t accidentally help someone in need. You purposefully do the things that you do, whether good or bad.
Yesterday during a sermon, our new pastor compared the mind to a control tower. The decisions made in there affect what’s going on outside it, be that good or bad. The consequences of the decisions made in the control tower are not just felt in the control tower.
The decisions we make in our minds are the ones we act on outside of our minds. Our decisions affect more than just us. Whether we like it or not, no man is an island; we all have an affect on each other. What decisions are we making in our control towers?
