No one likes to be sad. We try to avoid pain and misery as much as possible. But sometimes bad things will happen to you, and you will be sad.
The key is finding comfort in the middle of all the sadness. Though we do mourn, we were not made to stay miserable; comfort is available (Matthew 5:4). God has given us everything we need to navigate the deep waters of life.
Sometimes we are and need to be sad. But that doesn’t mean that there isn’t a point. God helps us. Then we can help others by showing them the comfort God gives (2 Corinthians 1:3-4).
It’s okay to be sad; God is the God of comfort.
