Let’s Talk About Equality

It seems like everyone is talking about equality these days. But I’m starting to wonder if anyone really knows what equality means. I’ve written about this before (Equal, Same, Different), but I think I’ll talk about it again.

Equality means that you and I and he and she and they and them are all of equal value in the sight of God. God created and loves each one of us. When you don’t believe that God created all humans equal, you start having some discrimination problems.

It doesn’t matter who you are, what you’ve done, where you’re from, or what your body type is. It doesn’t matter what your gender is. It doesn’t matter what job you do or do not have. It doesn’t matter what social position you do or do not have. It doesn’t matter what people you know. It doesn’t matter if you’re rich or if you’re poor. It doesn’t matter if you’re a genius or if you have a mental handicap. It doesn’t matter if you’re an Olympic-ready athlete or if you have a physical handicap. It doesn’t matter if you’re old or if you’re young. It doesn’t matter if you’re sick or if you’re perfectly healthy. It doesn’t matter if you’re average. It doesn’t matter if you’re black, white, brown, yellow, red, green, blue, purple, grey, or any other skin color. It doesn’t matter if you’re outside the womb or if you’re inside the womb.

God holds us all in equal value. God has lovingly created each one of us for a specific purpose. God has created us to be equals, to love Him and each other.
