In Vacation Bible School last week we decorated a box with a light in it. It wasn’t a very big light but when the lights were all off we could still see what the room looked like.
In the darkness it doesn’t take much light to illuminate your way. When you are afraid of the dark it doesn’t take much light to comfort you because now you can see.
Then the light was held higher. It didn’t get any brighter but I could see more of the room and what was in it. So I re-learned something else: the higher you hold a light the more it can illuminate.
So when you are walking in the dark and you or someone else needs comfort and direction, hold the Light higher.
