Self-control is restraint for the purpose of purity, exalting God and not yourself.
If you get unexpected money, stop and ask God who it is for. Ask God what He wants you to do with it.
God never gives you bad things. Even if what you have been given feels and seems bad, God has goodness within it to give you.

Persistent prayer develops and changes us. Persistent prayer purifies our prayers. Persistent prayer keeps our relationship with God fresh and alive! It is a privilege, not a pain!
