I’ve just finished my Bible reading for today, and though I’d share something. It isn’t new, but it’s something good to think about. In Hebrews, the author talks about the reasons why Jesus came in human form.

Jesus came where we are to save us from death. God can’t die, yet coming in human form He met death and the enemy face to face (Hebrews 2:14-15).

Because Jesus came in a form like ours, He felt what we do. Jesus Himself suffered and was tested, and help from experience is the best kind (Hebrews 2:17-18; 4:15).

In the Old Testament, the high priest was one of the people called by God (Hebrews 5:1-4). Jesus was called by God to be a high priest for us and was one of us (Hebrews 5:5-10; 4:14-15).

Hebrews also talks about how Jesus’ humanity was was proper, or suitable (Hebrews 2:10, look up the Greek). It was necessary, it should be done (Hebrews 2:17, also see the Greek). Why? Because God loves us and we need it. There is no other reason. We don’t deserve it, we can’t earn it. But God loves us that much. He gave us a chance. Jesus came because of love.

Have some more encouragement: Hebrews 4:14-16.
