So my last post talked about asking to receive. God has recently gently reminded me that the receiving part of what you asked for isn’t about you getting something. You are receiving for you to be better, yes, but it isn’t really about you. It is about God using you.
I am a lump of clay in God’s hands. The problem is, I have volition and I tend to squirm, wiggle, and resist. But God works with me anyway. I am supposed to be used by Him like a tool in His hand. Maybe even like a refreshing glass of water to be handed to someone. But it is God’s choice as to what I am supposed to do with what He is giving me. That’s the whole reason why I asked in the first place; I want to be able to do what He wants me to do.
Ask and you shall receive. The receiving isn’t just for you. God knows what to do with what He has given. God knows what to do with you. God knows what to do with others.
In short, receive God’s gift and submit to His will. Don’t let any pride get in the way. Proverbs 3:5-7
