I found some sermon notes again, these ones asking pointed questions and giving pointed answers.
Why do I serve God? Is it out of habit? Home pressure or influence? Business or social connections? An actual desire to express my love for what God has done? What is the motive?
Why did Paul serve God?
Because of the hope and power of the resurrection (2 Corinthians 5:1-10).
Because of the prospect of Divine review or judgement of Christ (2 Corinthians 5:10-11).
Because of the preaching of reconciliation (2 Corinthians 5:12-15).
Because of the high price of redemption (2 Corinthians 5:14-15).
Why do I serve God? Why do you serve God? Our motives can be mixed and can change, but it’s important to work with God to have and to keep the correct reasons for serving.
