Well, what are we going to do with our year? How will we spend our time? How will we invest our time? In essence, what are we doing with our time? Where and how is its use going?
You are a unique individual. There is no one else like you. And you’re a limited edition. You won’t be around forever. You have a set amount of time, and you don’t know quite how much there is. As limited editions, we spend part of ourselves doing things every day. We spend, invest, use, or waste a part of us that we won’t get back. If you’re doing something good and useful, something bad and wasteful, or even nothing at all, you are using something that you can’t take back, earn back, or otherwise obtain again.
We’ve already spent time last year. As for me, I could have spent much of it better. But telling God I’m sorry, asking for His forgiveness, repenting, and learning from it are all I can do. The past is done. It’s time to move on and do something better now.
So what are we going to do? Well, what does God want us to do? After all, He is the one who gave us our time and knows how much of it we have. It belongs to Him, as do we. So when God tells you what to do with your time, when you find a good way to spend and invest it in His service and plan, do it heartily and with all your might. When you spend and invest yourself in God’s service, more people benefit from it, whether it is now or later.
