As Charles Stanley put it, “Obey God and leave the consequences to Him.”
Obeying God is sometimes going to be scary, sometimes downright terrifying. But remember that God is the one calling you to action, so He knows what the results will be. God has called you, so He will equip you and keep you no matter what happens. Things may go smoothly for you, things might get pretty rough, but God knew what was going to happen and He’s right there. Look at the apostle Paul. He was called to stand before kings. He ended up shipwrecked and imprisoned as part of God’s plan to do that, but God never left him.
Doing God’s will can have plenty of unforeseen consequences. Whether we think they’re good or bad, God knew, God knows, and God is going to work it out for our good and His glory. So do what God wants, and leave the fallout to Him.
