Sometimes God tells you to make a decision that you don’t like. Sometimes He tells you to make a decision that someone else doesn’t like. Sometimes He tells you to make a decision that multiple people don’t like. Sometimes He tells you to make a decision that no one likes, including you. But no matter the difficulty and no matter what else, the decision God is telling you to make is a good one.
Sometimes we aren’t listening to God. Sometimes we want to ignore or at least disregard what God is telling us, especially if we want to do the opposite. But when God tells you to do something, you’d better do it! Even if it means someone else will hurt. Why? We don’t always know why. Only God knows everything, and He is not obligated to tell us what He knows. But we can trust that He is right because He does know everything, and because He is good and He is loving. (Psalms 33:13-15, 139:1-4; Proverbs 15:3; Matthew 10:29-31) We can pray, telling God how we feel and asking Him to give us strength and peace. We can have faith and have hope that He will work it all out for His good purpose. (Romans 8:24-28)
Making the correct decision probably won’t feel good right now, and it might not feel good for a while. But when you make the right decision, God will you give peace in the middle of all your emotions and feelings. God will take care of it. Just do what He told you to do. It is okay. It is good. God loves you. God loves the others in this situation. God is taking care of it.
