There is a song that asks the question, “Were you there when they crucified my Lord?”
Later on in the song it asks, “Were you there when He rose up from the grave?”
Many of you know the account of Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection. If you don’t, feel free to read it, from any or all of the gospels: Matthew 26:47-28:20; Mark 14:43-16:20; Luke 22:47-24:49; John 18:3-21:14.
My pastor talks about the time when he became saved as a boy. He had wrestled for a long time with God, making excuses that he was fine since he was the pastor’s son. But one day he agreed with God about who he was, and made the decision to follow God for the rest of his life! He says that the day he got saved he was at the empty tomb! It was the day that Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection all became real to him!
Whether or not you’ve been to the physical sites that could be the empty tomb, were you there? Were you there when they crucified my Lord, and were you there when He rose up from the grave?
