Last night, while in the little kids’ class at church, we had a summary from the previous lessons. The kids have been learning through the book of Genesis. When we got to the part about Adam and Eve sinning, the kids were asked what Adam and Eve did. One answer was particularly thought provoking. I’m not sure if the boy completely understood the depth of what he said, but this was the answer:
“They obeyed Satan.”
Strong words. Insightful words. Convicting words.
That’s pretty much what happens when you don’t obey God. When you don’t do what God wants, you are essentially doing what Satan wants. You cannot serve both. You will serve one of two masters, whether you know it or not.
So who do you obey?
