It’s been a year; how have we spent it? What are we going to improve on next year, and what will we keep the same? As we go into this next year, I’d like to remind us of a few things.
God’s idea is always better than yours.
You have never met anyone that isn’t important.
History will not remember you forever, but God remembers you forever.
When God fills your cup, there is no room for anything else.
Introspection is good, but it will only get you so far. If you’re not also looking to God, you might just end up stuck in your own head.
Refusing to do God’s will often has no or few negative consequences in a worldly sense; those who don’t follow God often do well. We may miss out on hardship if we refuse to participate in God’s will, but we will certainly miss out on blessings, and we may even miss out on a few jewels in our future crowns.
Sometimes we get so caught up in wanting to hear God more directly that we ignore what He has already told us directly in the Bible.
We never really know if we have more tomorrows than yesterdays.
We should not expect God to do supernaturally what we can do naturally. God gave us our own work to do with Him, so let’s get up and do it!
