I’ve recently talked with a friend and a few family members about Heaven, and we talked about what we think it could be like. We have a few hints from the Bible, but God really hasn’t said as much about it compared to the more immediately important things like Jesus’ life, death, burial, and resurrection, and how we ought to live the Christian life. While I would like to know more about Heaven, I get the idea that it’s supposed to be a surprise. I suppose it’s like when a very good friend who knows you very well tells you they’re putting together a surprise for you. They know you well and you know them well, so you know it will be amazing, but you have no idea what they have in mind. Then they show you, and it’s even better than you thought!

I don’t know what’s on the other side of this life in Heaven except God. And really, that’s good enough for me. If God is there, then it must be fantastic! And given that Jesus said He went to prepare a place for us (John 14:1-4), that must also mean something amazing! Think about it: God is extremely creative and imaginative, and He knows every person better than we know ourselves, so whatever Heaven is like, it must be absolutely glorious and enjoyable!

Trust God, He knows how to make a paradise. It was made for us and we were made for it. See also Romans 8:18-25, 1 Corinthians 15:50-54, and 2 Corinthians 5:1-5.
