God gave us the ability to observe, understand, and get in on the secrets of His creation. Animals don’t know the deep intricacies of creation’s workings, nor do they care. But we humans care and have the ability to notice that the universe has order, that it has measurable constants by which it works, and that we can use that knowledge to make our lives better.
I’ve heard it said this way: “God wrote two books; creation and the Bible.” In creation we see that God is, and in the Bible we see who God is. One shows us there is a God, the other tells us what He’s like and how to relate with Him. But we wouldn’t be able to read either one if God didn’t give us the ability to read.
God knows us and has made us in such a way that we can know Him, too. God wants to interact with us, and He’s rigged up quite a bit of opportunity for us to notice and do something about it!
