After a physical injury heals, if it was bad enough sometimes you can still feel it. It may have healed just fine and be fully functional again, but on certain days or depending on how you’ve moved around, it just doesn’t feel quite like it used to. This happens with your mind and emotions, too.
Sometimes something really hurts you where it cannot be seen. Sometimes even after you’ve healed and moved on, you still feel it on certain days. You’re doing just fine, but once in a while you just don’t feel quite like you used to. That’s okay, that happens. Like with physical pain, you’ll need to just take it easy for a bit. It’ll subside and you can go back to business as usual.
But what about injuries that still hurt all the time? The same principle applies to abstract as to physical in many cases. You’ll need to adjust the way you function, and people will need to understand that this is going to be the new normal. Your life isn’t over, it’s just different now. It’ll take some time to figure out how to continue doing things, and there may be some things you just can’t or shouldn’t do anymore, but it’ll be okay. Especially if you’ve got God helping you out.
