I found some notes from a sermon. I don’t remember how long ago I made these notes, but that doesn’t mean the information doesn’t still apply. From Proverbs 16:1-4, there are four points, one for each verse and extra Bible references in a few.

God’s plans over-rule our plans. We may make our own plans, but God has the last word! Take some stress off yourself. It all belongs to God! He knows what’s best and right!

Our plans often need adjusting and correcting. (Jeremiah 10:23, 17:9) We can be easily deceived into thinking that we are right. The waiting process for the Christian always involves prayer!

Surrender your plans to God and trust Him. The word commit here has to do with rolling. While you are pushing a boulder up a hill, God is on the other side pulling it up the hill for you.

Our plans must line up with God’s purpose. (Ephesians 2:8-10) God knows right where to place us. He knows just how to make us.

In short, God has plans that will be accomplished whether we participate or not. God knows better than we do, so while we might have some pretty good plans, God has the better one.
