Nature abhors a vacuum. If there is literally nothing in a space, not even air, the empty void will suck in its surroundings until it is filled. If you want to get rid of a bad habit or thought process, you need to replace it with a good one. If you take something out, then you need to put something back in, otherwise the empty space left will suck in the nearest thing to it, which might be the thing you just took out, or something even worse.

Your mind can be like a pond, and your thoughts like the fish in it. You are not the fish nor are you the pond, you are the one who looks after them. Keep the water clean and uncontaminated. Give the fish healthy food and don’t feed them poison. Carefully choose which fish are allowed in the pond. Some fish might be mean and try to push out the nice fish; don’t let them. Some fish might secretly be little monsters that are harming the other fish. If those end up in your pond, don’t feed them; take them out and get rid of them. Sometimes you might need to get into the pond to clean it out, sometimes you might just hop into the pond for some fun in the water with the fish, and sometimes you’ll be sitting on the edge of the pond, just watching and taking care of things.

Sometimes the way you feel physically can be an indicator of how you’re feeling mentally, emotionally, or spiritually. Sometimes physical symptoms can be like a “check engine” light for your non-physical health, alerting you to a problem you might not otherwise have noticed until it becomes much more difficult to fix. Don’t put it off; look into it now.

Your mind can be like a house, and sometimes the house needs to be cleaned or de-cluttered. You might be getting rid of things you don’t need to make room for things you do need. You might be dumping out the bad stuff to make room for the good stuff. Or you might just be opening up some space so you can live freely and comfortably in your own house without being stressed out while you’re in it.
