Jesus called us to take His Gospel – the story of His life, death, resurrection, and why He did the things He did – to everyone in the whole world. When we do this, we need to speak the truth in love, we need to be winsome and kind in the way we present it to people. If we really believe in Jesus and the Gospel, then we’ll live our lives like we believe and people will notice in a good way.

Sometimes sharing the Gospel is compared to shining a light in the darkness. Now let’s talk about light and darkness. A friend of mine has often pointed out that when your eyes are used to the darkness, a sudden light will blind you just as bad as being in the dark, and it will hurt. We need to be gentle with our Gospel light, shining it to light the way and not shining it directly into people’s eyes. The Gospel is not for us to point out people’s sins, it is for us to point them along the path towards Jesus. Jesus already has the taking care of the sin part covered.
