Some people need a little extra help around the holidays. Sometimes you’re one of those people. There are a lot of programs out there to help with whatever is needed, but let’s not forget to do some helping others ourselves. Even if you don’t have money to give, you likely have some time to give.

Some people are short on money this year. Sometimes they’re short every year. Reach out and help them buy some food and gifts for the family.

Some people are short on health or mental and emotional capacity this year. Sometimes they’re short every year. Reach out and help them get a few things done.

Some people are short on good company this year. Sometimes they’re short every year. Reach out and be there with them.

Now if you’re the one needing help this year, let people help you! It’s Christmas! Let people give you gifts! Don’t rob them of the blessing of giving, and don’t rob yourself of love and care! It’s okay to need help, it’s okay to ask for help, and it’s okay to receive help. It’s actually very good to get help, and you’ll find a kind of love and care you wouldn’t have experienced otherwise.
