Sometimes by reading, watching, playing in, or writing a story, you get to explore something you otherwise wouldn’t have experienced. Sometimes you wouldn’t want to experience it yourself, but you still learn something from having seen and heard it. You might start thinking about things that you wouldn’t have thought about otherwise. You might start asking questions you wouldn’t have asked otherwise.

Sometimes when you get into a story, it isn’t just giving you the opportunity to explore other places, other people, other thoughts, other feelings, and other motives, sometimes it is also giving you the opportunity to explore your own thoughts, feelings, and motives. Some stories might cause you to ask questions about your own morality or why you regularly do things the way you do them. Some stories can change your entire outlook on life.
