I wish I could remember who it was, but I saw a video on the Internet a while back where a man was talking about how God has custom made each of us and that we are all made for God’s good plans. When God makes things He makes them to be good. The things about your body and personality that you think are deficiencies are there because God has a specific plan in mind for which you are perfectly designed. In the video the man asked, “Have you ever looked at your brother, your friend, your enemy, and thought, ‘Wow, God did such a good job making this person!’?”

That last part of the question about my enemy caught me. God made the people I don’t like and the people who are my enemies, and He gave them certain personality traits, talents, and abilities on purpose. They may not be using them for God’s glory or allowing themselves to be directed by God, but God still put those traits there on purpose for His own glory. Have I ever looked at someone that I don’t like at all and thought, “Wow! That’s a great job there, God!”? It’s a convicting question to think about.

God has a plan in mind for everyone, whether or not we choose to participate in it. When we do choose to participate, God doesn’t erase who we are to complete that plan, He made the plan for us and us for the plan!

Psalm 139:13-16
