Every year I read through the whole Bible a little bit every day. I’ve noticed it’s a good habit to have. Not only do you get more familiar with the Bible, you get more familiar with the God who made sure you have the Bible to read.
Something I’ve been doing in the past few years is reading a different translation than I’m used to. It makes me think about the words. I’ve started reading a translation this year that has a lot of translation notes and study notes. It’s been very interesting and helpful to see how and why certain words are translated the way they are in some versions but not in others. It’s also been interesting to see what other people think of different passages, even when their opinions differ.
The more you read through your Bible, the more you’ll get out of it, the deeper you’ll be able to dig. It’s like exercising: the more regularly you do it, the more you’ll be able to do as you continue.
