We can be as close to God as we want to be. We can be as much like Jesus as we want to participate in the process of becoming like Him. We can hear the Holy Spirit as well as we want. Who said we can’t be as close to God as Enoch, Moses, Elijah, or Elisha?

God is open for us to be close to Him, but so often we Christians aren’t very close to Him at all. We get so caught up in the idea that He’s unfathomable powerful God that we forget He’s made Himself very accessible. We get so wrapped up in our lives and personal situations that we forget the Holy Spirit is actually very present within us. We get so caught up in so many other things that we forget Jesus told us we can call God “Father” just like He does (Matthew 6:9; Luke 11:2). Sometimes we forget what Jesus said in John 14:23 about abiding or residing with us because of mutual love.

You and I can have as much of God as we will. God gave all of us the same opportunity and access, so what will we each do with it? God is infinite; He does not run out of love, help, or attention.
